As someone who has been confined to a wheel chair a good chunk of my life, her wheel chair routine in her concert offends me a lot. I’m sick of the ableism.

wow, Y U mad tho? her wheelchair bit has nothing to do with physical handicaps
whenever you go out of a hopsital / mental or any health institution (including things like rehab) they have to, by law, wheel you to the door, even if you can walk on your own
it’s also an “asylum” thing, for example when a patient needs to be restrained or controlled in a strait jacket with leg restraints, for the sake of the safety of the patient and others around them, how else would they be transported? snowboard?
there are plenty of handicapped people who make light of their situation, you should probably be one of them and not take your misery out on others. just a thought, ya know?
I’ll just say this now, no, i havent been confined to a wheelchair, so maybe i dont have a right to say anything, but hell, someone’s gonna.
discuss.

Sorry guys, I know this is terribly off-topic but I just can’t.
This is a terrible post and you should feel terrible.
Seriously.

Jesus fucking Christ. This is the most insensitive, ignorant and douchey comment I’ve read in a long time.
I love Emilie’s music but I hate her fans so fucking much. EA herself says and does some problematic shit and I can’t stand the way her stupid fucking ‘plague rats’ try to gloss over it.
I’m out.

“I honestly can’t see why people think Khal Drogo is some great romantic hero, aside from them finding Jason Momoa attractive. To me, he will always be a rapist. Despite his wedding night and Dany’s eventual feelings for him, he still raped her repetitively, raped others, and approved of the rape perpetrated by his khal. Just because that’s the “way things are” in that world, does not make it right.”

someone didn’t read the book

Well it’s possible that this person has only read the books as it is only ‘Game of Thrones Confessions.’ But it makes you realize that a good portion of the people who are fans of the show also read the book, and it’s so common that we just expect people who submit confessions to have read them also.

Yes and most of the confessions ARE from the books. This person has only seen the GoT show but if s/he had read it, would know that this ‘rape’ part is a mistake, such as forgetting Blackfish

Y’all are harping on the confessor for not reading the book, but judging by your responses I’d say you didn’t read the confession.
There is nothing in this confession that is incorrect. He raped her in the books, and they aren’t talking about the wedding night, since they clearly state ‘despite his wedding night’.
Reading comprehension is a beautiful thing. I hope you see that someday.

Word of the Day: Nice Guy.

SO ACCURATE. But Iain Glen is sexy. So.

This is inaccurate. Have you people read the books?
of course in terms of this word being over Jorah Mormont’s face.

How is it inaccurate? Jorah is the epitome of Nice Guy.

Now TIME, you know that’s a lie.

When it comes to the top fiction books of the year:

1. A Dance with Dragons by George R.R. Martin

It was, famously, six years between the last Song of Ice and Fire book and this one. What was George R.R. Martin doing all that time? Was he wandering in the wilderness? Was he sunning on the beaches of Dorne? No: he was girding his loins and rallying the banners, and he has come charging back with one of the strongest books of the series, and the year. Dance with Dragons puts us back in the main narrative stream of A Song of Ice and Fire: we go into exile with the black-humored dwarf Tyrion, raise dragons with Daenerys, walk the wall and brood with Jon Snow. The artistry and savagery of Martin’s storytelling are at their finest: he has seized hold of epic fantasy and is radically refashioning it for our complex and jaded era, and the results are magnificent. It’s anyone’s guess who will wind up ruling the Seven Kingdoms, but in the realm of epic fantasy, there is only one true king, and it’s Martin.
I can’t even. How fucking delusional can you be.

That would just be pathetic tbh. There are a ridiculous amount of excellent fantasy stories out there, ASOIAF is hardly the end all and be all of fantasy.

clovesmokecatharsis:

I’m convinced that anyone in this fandom who says they dislike Tyrion Lannister is only saying so because they are trying to be SOIAF hipsters.

Right then…

Spoiler~ Tyrion and Shae

YEAH I KNOW WE ARE JUST SO THREATENING WITH ALL OF OUR WANTING EQUALITY AND STUFF!  ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY HORRIFYING!!!

OH DEAR GOD, NOT THE FEMINISTS! ANYTHING BUT THE FEMINISTS.

Their intentions are good but they DO take it too far.

Oh, do you think so? Forgive me if I don’t give a shit what a guy thinks about feminism, especially one who uses “their” and “they” to clearly indicate they don’t want to be associated with it.

Woah woah calm down. Some feminists refuse to let guys open doors for them. You’re telling me that’s not taking it too far?

Not when you look at the reason they don’t like having doors opened for them. If a guy opens a door for a woman because he’s just a nice guy who opens doors for *everyone*, regardless of gender, then cool. But that’s not likely. Most of the time it comes from some fucked up notion of chivalry which is completely rooted in misogyny.

It’s people like you who scare guys off trying to be gentlemanly you know? You are basically KILLING any chance of guys trying to be nice ever again.

I know you’re not addressing me but excuse me for not wanting a man to be nice to me just because I’m a woman.  I want people to be nice to me because they are nice people, not because of some outdated sexist notion of “chivalry”.  And if that means that I have to deal with less “nice guys” because I’m so terrifying with my radical ideas I’m ok with it.

And another one joins. Let me teach you about chivalry. Chivalry is the act of treating women nicely because they are precious to us. I can not put it any other way than that. It’s something only people who truly care about women would practice. I don’t know how it is sexist to treat women nicely. There are men out there who would beat women. You think a man with chivalry would ever do that? No. If every man had the chivalry the knights had in the middle ages the world would be a much better place. Thank you for your time.

I am concerned that you may literally be too stupid to function.

They are… precious to us.

This is madness.

This is a stupid debate. The person who made the image here is clearly a moron, but assuming that because I am a man opening a door for a woman that I WOULD NOT have done the same for a man is just as sexist as BEING the guy who actually does that. tl;dr

…did you just say that a woman is being sexist by assuming that a man holding the door for her is attempting to be chivalrous?
Is this rill life?
